activities
At St Augustine's with St Luke's, there are various activities to be involved with, that are important aspects of the life of the church.
Music & Singing
At St Augustine's with St Luke's, music and singing are at the heart of our worship. Join us for traditional hymns and contemporary songs that resonate with our community's spirit. New musicians and singers are always welcome. There are no formal auditions - enthusiasm and smiles are more important. Contact the Church Office for more information: office@st-augustines.org.uk.
Bell Ringing
The peal of eight bells at St Luke's, Bromley Common were installed in the new tower and spire in 1910 and have been rung for church worship, weddings and to mark special occasions ever since. This has been made possible by a dedicated band of bellringers who are committed to continue this service to the church. We practice weekly on Thursday evenings and in addition to service ringing, occasionally participate in outings elsewhere to ring the bells at other churches. We always need new recruits to join our band. Bellringing is not physically demanding, and full instruction is given in basic bell handling skills. Once these are mastered, ringing as part of a team takes place which is both stimulating and fun. Please contact the Tower Captain, Christopher Lawrance on 0208 462 3485 or the Church Office for more information: office@st-augustines.org.uk
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild at St Augustine's with St Luke's brings beauty to our worship space through stunning floral arrangements. Our talented members work together to create seasonal displays that enhance our services and special occasions. Join us to share your creativity and love for flowers.
